This is a wonderful soft white two-piece ensemble designed by Issey Miyake, who is considered to be Japan's most visionary designer. Miyake developed the layered and wrapped look which was to become his hallmark. He creates linear shapes from the drape and flow of the fabric and this ensemble is consistent with that characteristic. The top consists of actually two tops. The right arm is totally covered with two layers of fabric, while the left arm is only covered with one layer of fabric, creating a tunic-like effect with a beautifully draped hem. The pants are cut full and the entire outfit looks quite comfortable when being worn. It is a Size Medium, made of acrylic, rayon, and cotton and is in excellent, never worn, vintage condition.
