This is a breathtakingly beautiful child's gown, custom made and one-of-a-kind couture, masterfully created from antique laces using heirloom French sewing techniques. The gown is made of Alencon lace which is Chantilly lace which has been re-embroidered with very fine linen cord and three different types of Valenciennes lace, which is French bobbin lace known for its flat and even texture, which forms bands around the gown. The gown has an handkerchief pointed hem line and lovely angel's wings sleeves made of the finest Alencon lace. There is no clasp at the back of the dress because an antique bar pin had been used for closure. Entredeau is used throughout the design. Entredeau is a fancy French word for "joining" and it is an eyelet type of material that consists of a single row of tiny holes used to join fabric to fabric or lace to fabric. This gown is a work of art, of museum quality, freshly cleaned and laundered, and in excellent vintage condition, fit for a princess. The gown measures 22" across the chest or 44" around, 40" from the top of the shoulder to the hem line, and 13" across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
