21" Tall, and 10" head circumference. Antique German bisque socket head doll, by J D Kestner, marked: Made in Germany D 1/2 168 (size) 8 1/2 on the back of her head, and stamped on the body: Germany (registered) 3369. She has original brown glass sleep eyes, with full wax on the eyelids, painted upper and lower eyelashes, an open mouth with cut teeth, and original tongue. She has her original plaster pate and wears a replaced antique light brown mohair wig. She also has her original marked composition and wooden ball jointed Kestner marked body. This doll was nicely dressed by a previous owner in clothing made in the antique style, but with newer fabrics. She is wearing a cotton bonnet, blue dress with lace trim, white underwear, cotton socks and tie leatherette shoes. I looked over her head carefully and there are no cracks, no chips and no repairs. Her antique body has some wear from age and storage. All fingers are there and there is no repaint and no repairs to her body. This doll can stand in your collection as dressed, but is a bit loose, and will eventually need to e re-strung. I will remove her plaster pate to stuff her head when mailing. (Right now the plaster pate is intact). Circa 1910 era. I will accept a three month layaway on this sweet face Kestner doll.
