French mahogany Empire secretary, circa 1810, rectangular form with side columns and gilt capitals, dark-gray marble top, drop-down desk top with black-aged leather, interior with wide Romanesque arch, columns on either side with gilt capitals and bases, lower doors opens to three long drawers, beautiful burl pattern wood on the cabinet front and drawer fronts, the secondary wood is oak. Provenance: Boris Chaliapin Berlin, Germany. It is 56 ¾" high x 37 ¾" wide x 18 1/4" deep.
