The Chinese bactrian camel in an unusual kneeling position, and is from the Northern Qi Dynasty (549-577 AD). Its right front leg is kneeling and the left leg is reclining backwards, with its hind legs standing, saddle bags attached. The camel is finely molded with well detailed facial and fur features that are enhanced with rust color pigment. The results of the Oxford Authentication Ltd. Thermoluminescence test No.C205c5 is consistent with the dating of this piece. Height: 11" x 11 ¼" long (27.9 x 28.6 cm)
