McKee Glass Company began as McKee and Brothers Glass Works in Pittsburgh, in 1853. The factory moved to Jeannette, PA. In 1901, the National Glass Company took over the factory and ran it as McKee Glass until 1904. In 1904, National leased the factory to McKee-Jeannette Glass Company and then, in 1908, the company reorganized and became the McKee Glass Company. Eventually the Jeannette Corporation purchased the company in 1961.
This nice bowl may actually have been a base to a punch bowl, but it has no unset rim to accept a punch bowl. It certainly could be used as a fruit bowl, candy bowl, or even a soup bowl. It has a large capacity and is made in the "Colonial Panel" pattern that was so very popular with McKee.
