Lenox ix the only major manufacturer of bone china in the United States. The company was founded in 1889 by Walter Lenox and was called Lenox's Ceramic Art Company. Lenox was headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey and it was organized as an art studio and not as a factory. Lenox's products became popular in the early 20th century when separate dining rooms became the trend. Lenox then started making custom-designed, elaborately decorated dining plates, and this evolved into several lines or patterns of china.
This pretty little bud vase is simply exquisite. The ribbed body is gently drawn into the thin neck which has tasteful gilding around the rim. Many Lenox items are adorned with 24 K gold trim and logo, as is this vase. The vase is 4 & 3/4 inches tall and about 4 & 1/4 inches wide and is in like new condition. It is clearly marked on the bottom with the Lenox logo.
