The Irish Setter breed was recognized by the AKC in 1878. They are sweet natured and lively and have a playful attitude. They are both a family dog as well as a gun dog. They are one of the most handsome breeds with their rich, chestnut colored coats and nicely shaped heads. Their coats are silken.
This porcelain figurine is nearly 9 inches long. It is unmarked, but very similar to the Royal Doulton or Goebel, but the paper identification tag is long gone. He is hand painted with care and given an expression that only an Irish Setter could have. He is in excellent condition, absent of cracks or chips and easily suitable as a gift.
