The Fenton Art Glass was founded by brothers Frank and John Fenton in 1905. The Company ranks among the world's foremost producers of handmade art glass. Fenton was a leader in carnival glass innovation and design and thorough out the companies’ history. It has developed many new colors and patterns such as this Satin Custard Glass which was developed during the 1970's. The color has long since been discontinued, but this ginger jar is a lasting reminder of how pretty Fenton can be ..... especially when hand painted by such a talented artist as P. Palmer. The blue 5 petal Dogwoods are realistic as can be , and the delicate vines that support the flowers, look like they could begin to grow. These are very hard to find and considered rare. This jar is 6 inches tall and it is in excellent, like new condition.
The company is now led by third- and fourth-generation Fenton family members, who work side by side with over 100 employees. These employees include skilled glassworkers and decorators, that create beautiful, handmade art. Fenton has always been known for its high quality standards and innovative designs. Williamstown West Virginia is the modern home of Fenton .
