This lovely salad plate is a terrific example of classic flow blue china. It was made by the Grindley Company in Staffordshire, England, in 1903. It is 8 inches in diameter and was used as a salad plate. It has a gentle raised scroll design that borders the circumference of the dish. The clover leaf design is repeated beneath the raised scroll-work and appears slightly different in the center of the plate. The blue is fairly crisp, but does have that mystic, or hazy quality. The dish is crazed and does have two very small "flea bites" on the bottom. The offering price was adjusted accordingly.
