Gorham Silver's mark of the strange looking little bird dates the manufacture of this classy little creamer to 1892...the same year the Aragon Hotel in Atlanta was built. The six story, 125 room hotel was a luxury hotel that catered to the well to do clientele. Visitors were treated to finer amenities and one of the items that graced the dining tables was this 1/3 pint cream pitcher. The pitcher is clearly marked " Hotel Aragon, Gorham Co. # 06915, Silver S." and has the typical anchor insignia as well as the dating mark of the bird. There is a lovely patina over the creamer...one side is not even as it is one the other side, probably due to a storage factor. The creamer is pure and simple with elegant lines, except of fancy scroll work on the bottom edge. It is in unusually nice condition with very light minimal scratches, but no disfiguring dents or dings. It is about 2 and 1/2 inches tall and 1 and 3/4 inches in diameter.
