This pretty little Webster mustard pot is about 2 inches tall and it is about 2 1/16 inches in diameter. It is sterling silver with a glass liner. The manufacturer was Webster and their trademark is on the bottom, next to the word "Sterling". The lid is also marked "Sterling". The hinge is a bit floppy, but it seems substantial. The lid does not fit perfectly and is perhaps 1/16th of an inch under- lapped. In my opinion the jar needs to be polished, however some folks would prefer it not polished ...so it's not.
Just A little extra.... The mustard is corrosive with to silver. .. So there are glass liners in most mustard jars. Originally mustard was made powder form from mustard seeds. In the mid 1700's wine or water was added to the mustard and it made a sauce or what we think of today as mustard.
