This lovely and elegant Gravy Boat was made by Minton (Mintons) between 1912 and 1950. It has the green globe and crown stamp and the artist's initial "N". The gravy boat looks as if it were never used and it is in as near to perfect condition as it could be. Even the gilded edge is not worn or rubbed. Simply Beautiful!!
Minton History for those who are curious....
Thomas Minton founded his factory in around 1796 in Stoke-upon-Trent in England. Herbert Minton, succeeded his father as head of the firm, and developed fine bone china in about 1820. This enhanced the firm's reputation and gained it's notable standing amongst other china manufacturers in England.
After Herbert Mintons death in 1858 the Minton name continued as the Company name however the Minton family has not been connected with the firm.
Minton today is renowned for the finest of elegant china. We have many more pieces of Minton "York" that we will be adding to our store in the near future.
