State House was a line of 3 patterns that Oneida made for private distribution. The 3 patterns under the State House name were Formality, Inaugural and Stately. This set is the beautiful and formal Inaugural pattern. It was made in 1942. This set is slightly used, but very nice and clean. The knife is nearly 11 inches long with a 7 inch blade that is very sharp. Both fork and knife blades are stainless with the handles being Sterling Silver and marked as such. The original flatware silver bag comes with the set. This pattern was not distributed through department stores nor jewelry stores, which were the conventional distribution channels of the time, therefore they can be a little more difficult to find.
