This wonderful German character has a face that is full of expression. The wrinkles around his mouth are deep with dimples at his chin and at his cheeks. His open closed mouth shows his joy and his eyes are large and bright. His large ears are well molded and life – like and his hair is brushed in curved strokes that appear as hair. His head is shaped as a new born baby with a flat area at the top. He has a double chin and fat wrinkles at his neck. His very unusual brown eyes give him a very different character. His eye lids are heavily molded and his nose is prominent and turned up. His chubby baby body is without damage and all fingers and toes are intact. His clothes are breathtaking. He wears a christening gown that is handmade and is 43” long. Under the gown, he wears a matching handmade slip. He also wears a heavily embroidered wool slip and a cotton long sleeved diaper shirt with a flannel diaper, long wool knitted booties and knitted stockings. He also wears a beautiful baby bonnet. He is 20” long and is incised “K * R 100, 50”. This character model is often referred to as “Kaiser Baby” by collectors.
