This model of German doll is seldom seen. She is 24” tall and is a rarely found example of an early Kammer and Reinhardt 192. Her head is incised only “192”. The Kammer and Reinhardt firm made many dolls after 1900 but the early closed mouth premium examples are very scarce. This beautiful example has a closed mouth with full, expressive lips. A light line is painted to show a separation between her lips. Her cheeks are softly blushed. She has open and close brown eyes surrounded by dark, thick painted lashes. Her brows are full and feathered. The quality of her bisque is perfect. She has pierced ears and each has a tiny flake at the earring hole. Her head is perfect and has no other flaws. She wears her original human hair wig and has her original pate. Her body is really wonderful. It is perfect in every way. It has its original paint finish and has no flaws or repairs. It is a very early eight ball body with very chunky limbs and a very shapely molded torso with curves and muscles. It has a navel, rib cage and a very low crouch and derriere. There is a little surface wear on the fingers but no damage and no repaint. She wears what appears to have always been on her. She has socks with pink ribbons, a long cotton gown with lace and insets that certainly appears original and a frail, silk robe. She is a beautiful example of the superior quality of the early German closed mouth dolls and their superior bodies.
