This pair of German all bisque children appear to be dressed as peasants. They are about 3 ½” tall and both have one strap brown painted shoes and blue stockings with a dark blue band at the top of the stockings. They also both have painted pants that are dark rose stripes. Their arms are jointed at the shoulders. Their little character faces have painted features and painted dots of hair. Their painted hair is brown with a painted topknot and two tufts of hair above their molded ears. Their round faces have rosy cheeks and an open/closed mouth that looks as if they are smiling. Their googly round eyes glance toward the right and are highlighted. Their cloth clothing appears to be original to the dolls. They both wear a cloth hairpiece that covers the head and ties at the back. This cloth matches a cloth piece that covers the shoulders and bodice. Both dolls wear an apron and both have a knitted bag on their right arm. Both dolls also have a purple silk skirt but one of the skirts has deteriorated and one still remains intact. This is a really sweet little pair and the original owner states that they have always been together in her family’s home. They are both incised “P. 4 with another faint number under “. They are both in perfect condition with no breakage.
