This is a early Papier-mâché and wood Doll from the 1800s. She is about 15 inches tall and that is with the hat on.. Without her hat she is about 14-1/2 inches tall. The hat is a black velvet like material with gold threaded trim and it gives her a royal look. Her wig is mohair and the hat and wig are original to her. She has painted features. Her arms are peg strung and her hips are look to be rivet jointed. I did restring her arms as they were loose. Her clothes are old and look homemade. She is in very nice condition. She has molded shoes with heels. If you look at the way her legs are attached it looks like metal rivets and I not sure if it is original or not. I can see from the side to the inside of the torso and I can see that there is wood. .
