This striking FM Christmas tree pin was designed by Kenneth J. Lane (KJL) as part of a series of the 1997 "Jewels of Christmas" pins he did for the Franklin Mint. It features three tiers of clear rhinestone boughs, with kelly green enamel guilloche for the tree with gem color rhinestones ornaments. It has a gold plated bow at the base and a star topper. One of the prettiest trees I have seen anywhere!
This is a book piece shown in Jill C. Gallina’s “Christmas Pins Past and Present. “ It is also shown on Page 73 of Kathy Flood’s “Costume Jewelry Figurals.” Unlike dedicated Christmas Jewelry books, this one features only a sampling of what Ms. Flood considered the best representations of the various styles and designers that produced Christmas tree pins.
Measurements: The brooch is 2.5 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide (6.4 by 3.8 cm) with a vertical pin back. Weight is 20 grams.
Condition: It is in excellent - near mint - vintage condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an essential part of the description.
Marks: A cartouche on the back is marked “FM” for Franklin Mint.
