This vintage Vendome necklace is not their usual look. Hanging from its bright gold tone, heavy chain is a large flower burst medallion. Below the medallion are 9 dangles, each with 2 white faux pearls. This chunky, large scale look with dangles is very much back in runway style today! In fact, this beauty from Vendome is in such "near new" condition that no one would guess that it probably dates from the 1960's - 1970's time period. It is big and bold and beautiful!
Measurements: The chain hangs down 7 inches from the J-hook side and 10 inches from the other side to allow for adjustment; total length is 20 inches (51 cm). The pendant is 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in diameter and the beads hang down another 2 inches.
Condition: It looks unworn - not even much sign of the normal scuffing you would expect from the faux pearls knocking together and the gold tone to the metal is very bright. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: The medallion has a cartouche marked "©Vendome" as well as the Vendome fleur de lis metal hang tag near the clasp. Vendome was the high end division of CORO. Vendome is best known for its gorgeous crystal necklaces, but also for its quality metal work designs. I have not seen this particular design elsewhere. CORO went out of business in the USA in 1979 and closed down their Canadian operations in the 1990's.
