This vintage Crown Trifari pin / brooch is from their 1970's Egyptian series that commemorated the first U.S. tour of the artifacts from King Tut's tomb. All the collection - which included necklaces, pendants, pins, bracelets and earrings - were done in the same combination of a light and royal blue and orange enamels. This rare beetle is a pin; it was also done as a pendant. This is one of the most sought after of Trifarai's collections. A pendant from the collection is shown on page 237 of Julia C. Carroll's "Costume Jewelry 202" and on page 300 of her subsequent book "Costume Jewelry 303," including this beetle.
Measurements: The brooch is 1.75 inches tall by 1.25 inches wide with a horizontal pin back.
Condition: The pin is in excellent vintage condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: It is stamped (Crown) "TRIFARI" with a copyright symbol on the back side.
