This pair of Schreiner earrings feature gray rhinestones in the center, surrounded by clear, diamond shaped rhinestones. The setting is a gun metal color, which heightens the dramatic impact of the earrings. A wonderful addition to your Schreiner collection in colors that will complement a wide variety of outfits.
Measurements: Measure about 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) in diameter.
Condition: The earrings are in good vintage condition with its age visible with a loupe (tiny nicks to the diamond shape stone points and scuffing to the gray surfaces. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: One earring is signed "SCHREINER" and the other is not. The clip backs do not match; the one marked Schreiner matches the gun metal color of the earring; the unmarked one is a bright silver. Based on that, I assume the unsigned clip back is a replacement.
History: The founder of Schreiner Jewelry Company, Henry Schreiner, immigrated to the USA in 1923. He maintained his European contacts, and some of his fabulous stones were made for his company alone. Schreiner jewelry is in the top tier of costume jewelry, both for its design and quality. Although Henry Schreiner died in 1954, his daughter and son-in-law, who had been active in the company for decades, carried on until the company closed in 1977. His jewelry was handcrafted and made in limited numbers; it has steadily appreciated in value over the years
