This vintage Ilene box purse is made of a marbleized gray lucite. It has a purple satin looking lining with one pocket. There are two gray lucite handles with a clasp that folds over a raised metal piece (it does not latch closed in the more traditional sense). As described under its condition, it once had the owner's initials (A and S) glued on, but they have been removed. This is a more basic lucite purse but still has their appeal.
Measurements: The purse is 10 inches in length, 6 inches high with a depth of 2.5 inches. The two handles have a rise of 5.5 inches.
Condition: The purse is in good condition overall. There are faint remnants of the glue for the initials on one side; I have been able to remove most of it. The inside lining of the purse is loose along the top edges. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: A label inside the purse reads "Ilene, Made in the U.S.A., London, New York, Paris." Her purses date to the 1950's, are rather hard-to-find, and can be quite pricey.
