This vintage Monet gold plated necklace features a very heavy chain with 11 disks dangling across the front. Each disk has a crosshatch pattern. You will love the way this Monet classic combines drama with elegance. Monet was quite prolific, however, I could not find another one like unique necklace.
Measurements: The necklace is 18.5 in (47 cm) long with a J-hook clasp and the ability to shorten length. The disks vary in diameter from approximately .5 to .75 inch. It has a substantial look and feel - weighs approximately 4.1 ounces.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: The necklace is signed "MONET" with the copyright symbol on the back of the J-hook clasp.
Company History: Monet was in business beginning in 1929, but they did not use the Monet hallmark until 1937. Their use of gold and silver plating and sterling silver was unusual in the mid century time frame. It was meant to have a classic look and relied much more on their design and metal work rather than use of rhinestones.
