This sterling silver HOBE bracelet features a bouquet of buds, berries and leaves, tied with ribbon at their base, with the stems extending beneath the tie. This brooch has a lot of elements to it, which are easier to see and appreciate in person versus in the photographs. The sterling jewelry produced by so many major designers during the WWII period, when other metals were not available, have a special place both in the country's and jewelry's history. Hobe was one of the leaders in this genre.
Measurements: The pin is approximately 3 inches tall by 1.75 inches wide with a vertical rollover clasp.
Condition: It is very good vintage condition; I leave the cleaning to its new owner. It has a 1/20 gold vermeil which has mostly worn away, resulting in an uneven color. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: The brooch is marked "HOBE, 1/20 14K over STERLING, DESIGN PAT'D". Hobe produced most of its wonderful sterling silver jewelry during WWII, when other metals were not as available.
