This vintage, Franklin Mint Jewel Of The Nile Scarab necklace features an Egyptian revival motif. It is heavily electroplated in 22 karat gold and hand enameled with vibrant blue and aqua extended wings. At its center is a lavender onyx cabochon scarab, carved with the ancient Egyptian symbol for "Good Luck." Beneath the scarab is a metal fan shaped dangle with repeat the pattern of the "wings" of the necklace. This amazing necklace adds drama that is sure to garner compliments!
Measurements: The necklace is approximately 15 inches long with a spring ring clasp. The rigid center is 5 inches between end points. The scarab and dangle hang down about 2 inches.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent - virtually mint - condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an essential part of the description.
Marks: The back has a cartouche with "FM87" with the copyright symbol stamped on it. The "87" presumably refers to the year of its production. Egyptian revival jewelry was extremely popular in the period between 1960 - 1990, and is a perennial favorite.
