Measurements: The necklace is 16 inches long (40.6 cm) with a barrel clasp. The goose is approximately 2 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall.
Condition: They necklace is in very good condition with normal, slight crazing to the duck's glaze. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
Marks: A bead near the clasp reads “Parrot Pearls,” the original of the three companies.
Company History: The original company, Parrot Pearls, and was founded in 1975 in San Francisco. Their trademark, easily recognizable pieces are hand made ceramic jewelry in fanciful shapes such as animals and flowers, and incorporate colorful beads. The company called Flying Colors was founded by former employees of Parrot Pearls in the 1980's. Another spin off company was Ruby Z, produced designs until 1995, under the direction of its most famous original partners, Candace Loheed and Bean Finneran. Their work has received multiple references in Ann Pittman's "Inside the Jewel Box" series.
NOTE: We are huge fans of all three companies. Do a shop search on the word "ceramic" and all (Flying Colors, Parrot Pearls, Ruby Z) in current inventory will show up. They often "fly" out the door quickly!
