This Corocraft choker necklace, called "Contessa," was features 5 white glass tulips (3 dangle behind the 2 fixed in front) suspended from a curvy, gold tone centerpiece. The link chain has white, glass beads between links. This piece is such as classic that I was surprised not to find any others like in while researching it.
Measurements: the necklace is 15.25 inches long (39.4 cm) with a fold over clasp. The center design is 2.25 inches across with a curved, rigid center and a drop of 1.5 inches
Condition: The set is in excellent vintage condition. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: A cartouche on the back of the center design reads "Corocraft PAT. PEND.". Corocraft was originally designed to compete in the English market as high end costume jewelry. The emphasis was on Art Deco (geometric) and Art Nouveau (nature designs). Alfred Katz was the lead designer for Corocraft. According to the Coro Jewelry book "From 1933 to the 1970's, Corocraft was the top line for Coro."
