This pretty sterling silver purse was made c.1910. Charming butterflies and flowers decorate the face of the pierced frame. The body of the purse is mesh with five little silver balls hanging from the bottom. The original owners name is beautifully engraved inside the frame. The frame is also marked 'sterling silver'. In very good condition, no holes in the mesh. The clasp closes well. There is a gentle wave/impression in the center of the back of the frame that doesn't really show in photos. I imagine this is from years of fingers pressing the purse closed. It's a nice large size at 6.5" wide x 5.5" tall plus the chain handle which has a 7" drop. The weight is 220 grams or just over 7 troy ounces.
