Wonderful early kidney shaped demijohn bottle c.1830. Bottles of this age and shape are a bit difficult to come by. This bottle is blown with slightly flattened sides and has an open pontil. The neck has a string rim type finish; color is olive green to the yellow side. This is a large one measuring about 17” tall, 16” wide and 11.5” deep. It’s in very good to excellent condition with some light surface wear/abrasion around the body from the original wicker cover and storage. Expected base wear. An interior residue ring settled on a shoulder, otherwise the interior looks pretty clean. There are no cracks or chips found. Light passes through the bottle easily and shows off lots of air bubbles and the occasional tiny stone in the glass. There is one very long air bubble where the neck meets the body.
Layaway available for full priced items over $500.
