German bisque molded hair boy doll with glass eyes, 14 inches tall, with original body and costume. Priced as body and costume only, giving no value to the head.
LAST CHANCE! Final reduction has been made.
I have removed the head to show the inside and the glued repairs. The original body and very fine costume, including wonderful high top Red leather boots, represent the value of this doll. A replacement head would not be difficult to find and would result in a valuable and glorious presentation.
First, the head: 3.5 inch shoulder head with lovely pale blue spiral threaded glass eyes, outlined eye cuts, painted upper and lower lashes. The facial painting is lovely with individually feathered brows, softly blushed cheeks, accented eye corners, nostrils, and shaded lips with darker separating line. The molded blonde hair has exposed ears. The rear shoulder plate is incised 190 / 2, which is a Kling mark. As shown, there is a shoulder break that dissects the factory mark on the back, travels over the right shoulder, and ends at the front plate. The top of the head has another glued break that circles the head and goes into the right eyebrow. It is a good deal of damage and is merely glued together. No other restoration has taken place. If one were to replace the head on this body, measurements to seek out would be 3.5 inch height, 2.5 inch shoulder to shoulder, and about 1.5 inches front to back.
Body: Exceptionally fine factory doll body with bisque lower arms, joined shoulders, hips, and knees. It sits in a chair nicely. The lower legs have stitched on red stockings and the most fabulous pair of red leather boots. The arms appear to be vintage replacements in the correct style. Underneath the stockings, one can see a blue/cream patterned sewn in stocking. There may or may not be leather boots underneath the red ones.
Costume: Knitted gray/cream pants with red lower trim and a gray belt that appears to be added through the belt loops which are knitted in. The red/cream striped blouse is beautifully made with placket front and buttonholes, set in waistband, cuffs, collar. There is a red ribbon at the neck. Front and back are pleated. The waistband has buttons where it attaches to the pants to keep it neatly tucked in.. Fabulous RED leather boots!
Book value if perfect would be $400 plus based on the fine body and costume. I have priced this item as if it were body and clothing only, giving no value to the head. My price is quite firm and if it does not sell quickly, I will list the body and clothing separately; the body and boots would sell for well above the asking price.
Wonderful as a complete doll, but would benefit greatly with the addition of a new, undamaged head.
