Choice Alice in Wonderland German Bisque shoulder head with striking blue glass eyes.
Made by the Alt, Beck and Gottschalck Porcelain Factory, she is marked: 974 # 10 on the rear shoulder plate. She has six sew holes and a red artist mark on the inside of the rear plate.
Extremely crisp modeling on this head with deep comb marks in the hair, well defined and fully exposed ears, and facial features which are beautifully painted. She has individually painted upper and lower eyelashes, red eye corner and nostril accents, highlighted lips with a darker separating line. Her brows are soft brown and have individually painted hairs. Her cheeks are softly blushed. Her long hair falls in soft waves down past her shoulders and she has fringe bangs and little tendrils in front of her ears. Her spiral threaded paperweight eyes are a soft blue with a dramatic cobalt blue ring around the irises. Just stunning!
This is a sought after head and is very hard to find in this larger 6 inch size. Height from base of plate to top of head is 6 inches. Width across the shoulders is 4-5/8 inches, and depth front to back is 3 inches.
This would make a doll approximately 22 to 24 inches tall when mounted on the proper body. Feel free to email with any fitting questions or if you would like us to check for a body that would work for this head. Value of complete doll would be in the range of $1500 - $1750.
