Very nice full chemise for a larger size doll. This would be perfect on a Greiner, folk rag, large china, or wax doll. I believe this is German factory made, likely circa 1870-1880.
It is made from a linen weave cotton with a crisp hand, and the bottom ruffled edge is of a finer weave like cotton lawn, but looser. It is made with fully finished French seams. It has two rows of pin tucks plus the hem and is very lightly gathered. The sleeves have a row of fine needle lace edging. The back closes with a single button.
Measurements: length from center front neck edge to bottom of ruffle is 10-1/4"; Neck opening measured straight across from edge to edge is 5". Chest measured flat is 9-1/2" (just under arms).
Condition is excellent. There are some loose side threads from the French seaming which can easily be trimmed off. There are a few very pale spots on the buttoned side as shown, and two very tiny pin side holes on the same size. All pictured for you.
