Circa 1860, china doll head with deeply sloping shoulders, modeled bust, and six sew holes.
The head is 6-1/2 inches from base of shoulder plate to top of head; 5-3/8 inches across the shoulders and 3-1/4 inches front to back, measured in a straight line on the inside of the shoulder plate. She would make a large doll about 24 to 26 inches tall, depending on the proportions of the body.
The head is beautifully detailed with sharp features and deep comb marks. She has very deep blue shaded eyes with right side highlights, partially outlined irises, black lash lines, red lid lines, accented eye corners and nostrils, and smiling mouth. Her cheeks are highly blushed and she has a white center part that extends to the crown of her head.
There are no chips, cracks, or repairs, and there is typical wear to the hair paint.
