Sweet Turned Head china shoulder head in a much larger size than usually found.
The head is turned dramatically to the right as shown in our photos. No Markings. She has shaded watery blue eyes in sharply modeled eye sockets, black lash lines, red lid lines, accented nostrils, and heart shaped mouth. Her cheeks are boldly blushed and she has partially exposed ears.
These heads were made by various German porcelain factories for Butler Brothers in New York from the late 1890s through 1930. This head is of earlier manufacturer as evidenced by the high quality of the china and decoration.
This head was mounted on a too small body and should make a doll about 26 to 28 inches tall when properly mounted on the correct body.
Condition: Excellent: no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Measurements: 7 inches tall; 5-1/4 inches across the shoulders; 3-3/4 inches front to pack to accommodate the upper torso of a body.
