Early Greiner hairstyle china head doll of exceptional quality, circa 1840's, has multiple rare features. She has fine luminous porcelain and the features well known to be from the Kloster Veilsdorf Porcelain Factory. She is 23-1/2 inches tall.

Thick hand pressed porcelain shoulder head with pink tinted complexion, black sculpted hair with wide center part waved back behind the modeled ears into short finger curls, antique muslin stitch-jointed body with replaced leather arms, antique costume.
The head is finely modeled and beautifully painted with brown shaded eyes with fully outlined irises and left upper highlights, black lash lines, red lid lines, deep charcoal brows. Rare features include the individually painted upper AND lower lashes, and the feathered, multi-stroke brows. (These dolls when found with painted lashes, typically only have the lower lashes and do not have feathered brows.) She has oval eye corner accents and accented nostrils. Her deeply modeled mouth is slightly smiling and her cheeks are evenly blushed. Her shoulder plate is deeply sloping and can be felt through the clothing. Because her costume is so tightly fitting, I did not remove the bodice. I fear taking it off over her arms will do damage to both the arms and the sleeves and do not wish to damage either.
Her muslin stitch jointed body appears to be the original but with replaced cream leather arms which are beautifully hand made with separately stitched fingers. There is no indication whatsoever of hidden damage under her clothing.
She wears an antique fine wool two piece gown in olive green that is completely hand stitched. It also appears that the bodice is lined. Underneath, she has layers of undergarments including a chemise, pantaloons, and half slip. She also wears long cotton stockings with pink striped tops and brown leather boots with the cornerstone logo on the soles.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks, or repairs to the gorgeous head. There is very minimal wear to the paint on the curls in back. Much less than typical for such an early doll. She also has minimal kiln specks, again less than typical for this early doll.
Truly CHOICE example of a Greiner style china head lady doll with numerous features which make he a most scarce example and in truly fine condition.
