Civil War era china head lady doll in a larger 25 inch size with with choice quality shoulder head with wide-set bright blue eyes.
The head has no chips, cracks, or repairs and nearly non-existent wear to the high parts of the curls of the hair as is typical of these china heads. Her facial features are sharply modeled and beautifully painted and include those huge bright blue eyes that are wide set and very oval in shape with partially outlined irises and white pupil highlights on the right sides. She has black lash lines, red lid lines, accented eye corners and nostrils, and smiling lips. Her shoulder plate is deep and sloping and has six sew holes.
She is on a vintage body with china lower arms legs which have flat black boots with gold trim. One leg has a glued repair just above the boot which is not visible to the eye without a black light.
She is dressed in a vintage deep green velvet two piece gown which is made of old fabric. Underneath she has lace trimmed undergarments made from old slips.
Condition: Excellent. No damage or wear to the china head. No chips, cracks, or repairs. One leg invisibly glued.
This is a lovely 1860s china with an unusually expressive face and expression, beautifully dressed and ready for display.
