We are pleased to be offering today this pair of John Jelliff arm chairs that dates from the 1870s to 1890s and came right out of a home in Central Maine. These are a nice pair of chairs. One of the chairs has a medallion back and one having a shapely back. Both chairs have the same matching crest on the tops and the Jenny Lind heads on the forearms on both chairs. The legs are fluted and reeded. The carving is all incise. The chairs overall are in pretty good condition. The fabric is an antique yellow crush velour fabric that was done later on in life, but they are nice and intact. The antique yellow gimp is nice, but needs to be tacked back in on a few spots. The finish is outstanding. It has the really nice original 120 year old patina that only burl walnut and high end walnut has. The chairs haven’t been cleaned or polished. They could use a cleaning and a good polish. You are getting both chairs for one money. There is minor nicks and dings and flaws that are to be expected for an item of this age. Shipping starts at $345 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
