We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful original finish tiger sawn oak bevel glass gentleman’s chest with a hatbox compartment that is cleverly disguised as part of the drawer system. It has a large drawers on top, a double small drawer stacked on the left hand side, the right hand side is a large door compartment that is 13 inches high and then there is two more large dove tail drawers on the base. It has panels sides and a bevel glass shapely mirror that swivels in the solid oak yolk. It is finished off with corner posts that come down into a cabriole style leg. It dates from the 1890s and has the original hardware and escutcheons. The locks are all there, but there is no key. The overall size is 37 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 49.5 inches high to the dresser base and 68 inches high to the top of the mirror. If you look at the dresser from the side it appears there is a slight curl to the front of the top, but it isn’t noticeable from the frontal view. The bevel glass mirror is original and shows age spots with some silver loss that adds to the charm and character. The finish is all original. The only thing I see wrong is that the top of the serpentine dove tail drawer has a slight chip. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
