We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful tiger sawn oak turn of the century oak lawyer’s bankers flat top writing desk that dates from the 1890s to 1900s era. It is a great looking desk in the original old finish. It has a metal tag saying it was presented to Mr. Rowell back in the year 1900. It must have been a prize for hard work. The desk is 54 inches wide, 30 inches deep and 30 inches high. It is in the original old finish showing minor nicks and dings. We have refinished many of these desks, but we also typically get $1450 for them all refinished. We can discuss refinishing at the time of the sale. This desk has four dove tail drawer going down the left hand bank. There is a center drawer between the banks. The right hand bank has two drawers above the double drawer for files. It has beautiful panel sides. It is tiger sawn all the way around. The biggest problem with the desk is that there is a split in the top as shown in the photos. Someone must have run wires underneath as molding has been notched out the molding and there are two cylinder holes on the base board of the right hand bank of drawers. It is missing a small piece of molding under the center drawer. It is in good usable condition. The drawers are 11 inches wide, the writing surface is 11 inches wide, the center drawers is 24 inches wide and the chair space is 24 inches high.
