We are pleased to be offering today a most rare and very hard to find matching set of 8 burl walnut incise carved dining room chairs that consists of 2 master chairs and 6 side chairs. Take a look at the pictures folks. You would normally see a set like these for $3500-$3800, but these are priced reasonable. They date from the 1870s to 1880s. I assume they have been reupholstered quite a while ago in what appears to be an ox blood leather. The seats are usable, but you may want them redone as the underneath the upholstery will need to be redone at some point and a couple of leather seats have worn spots but all are very usable. The chairs are pretty tight for being almost 150 years old. The overall size is 19.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 34 inches high to the back and 20 inches high to the seat. The arm chairs are 24 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 37 inches high to the back, 26 inches high to the arm and 21 inches high to the seat. It is a great set. They have burl accented backs, incise carving on top of the burl, solid black walnut spindles and cross stretchers, buttons on the arms, fluted tapered multi-turn legs and you are getting all eight chairs for one money. On the inside of one of the arm chairs the wood button decorations are missing but we will take care of it before shipping. Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
