We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian walnut and burl walnut panel incise carving and applied carvings on the gorgeous Victorian renaissance needlepoint slipper chair. This accent piece can go anywhere. It dates from the 1870s to early 1880s. It is renaissance with a little bit of Victorian and Eastlake influence. The chair has needlepoint on the seat and the back with a beautiful floral design. The patina finish is stunning. The burl panels, heavy carved crest on top, reverse curls on the ends of the crest and even the post back legs are flared with burl panels. The seat has side skirts, incise carved corner blocks and even the bottom carved crest intact. The back of the chair had some sort of a tightener in it and someone plugged it, which was a normal way to tighten them back in the day. The chair is all tight so we would not do anything to change it. The overall size is 20 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 37 inches high to the chair back and 17 inches high to the seat. It is a great accent piece or decorator piece. Shipping starts at $75 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired. Please contact us prior to purchase with a zip code to confirm that you are in our normal area.
