We are pleased to be offering today this solid black walnut gentleman’s shaving mirror stand that dates from the 1880s era. It is a great looking piece. Somewhere along the line someone put a clear coat over the original finish. All the wood in pretty much intact. It has fluted columns on the front of the storage box and rope braised columns in the back. It has cut out cookie corners and a triple cap top that finishes off the cover and a dainty carving on the front. Above the box is an oval shape mirror glass that has been replaced. There is no back on the mirror currently, but we can put one on if the buyer so desires. The threaded rods that hold the mirror in place has one that is original and the other one is missing the thumb screw but the threaded rod is in place to support the mirror. The lift top cover opens a storage space for brushes, razors and other accessories. It all sits upon a multi turn beaded and ball base with three fancy cut out legs. The overall size is 17 inches wide, 11 inches deep, the box is 3 inches deep, 41 inches high to the top of the box and 63 inches high to the top of the mirror. The mirror does swivel to accommodate any height. Shipping starts at $145 for our normal area. Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm the shipping price for your locale as this is only an estimate.
