We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful extra heavily carved solid black walnut Civil War era gentleman's arm chair that dates from the 1860's to 1870's. It is a great looking chair in solid black walnut with a carved top crest that is extra fancy being 4.5 inches high and over 3 inches thick. It depicts flowers and leaves. The open arms also have carvings on them. It came apart where the arm meets the post on the left hand side, but we have professionally tightened it. The upholstery is an antique dark teal or light green buttoned and pleated upholstery that is in good condition. The chair is 24 inches across the arms, 20 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 20 inches deep, 17 inches high to the seat and 38 inches high to the crest. The chair is in nice original condition. I am sure the upholstery has been replaced as it is in to nice condition for it to be original. It is in the dark original finish. Shipping starts at $245 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.
