A beautifully shaped and pierced English silver sugar castor or shaker hallmarked for William Hutton & Sons, Birmingham 1918-1919. This handsome shape is generally known as the lighthouse form. These shakers were used to sprinkle castor, or powdered, sugar on crumpets, tea cakes, fruits, etc.
This exquisite piece stands 7" high, and measures 2 3/4" across the bottom. The shaker is in very good undamaged condition. There are no dents, scratches or gouges. It weighs 6.56 oz and is hallmarked as per photo.
