A very pleasing early 19th century English herb chopper, hand-crafted in iron with brass clad handle. This wonderful piece, used daily in the Georgian through Victorian era kitchen is in very, very good, undamaged condition. It has been cleaned and polished and is in lovely presentable condition. It measures 5" high by 9 1/2" wide overall. Quite a substantial piece weighing two pounds.
These early, desirable herb choppers are becoming so difficult to find and we just found two exceptional examples in a private collection. The second one, also available in our shop, is pictured in the last photo on the Welsh slate dough board.
