A seldom found mid-19th century English heavy gauge brass fish slice or pierced spatula with central diamond design and gracefully cut handle which ends at the top with a circular cut out for hanging. The handle is attached to the skimmer with copper rivets.
This wonderful piece of 19th century kitchenalia measures 18 1/4" in length by 4 1/4" wide. It is in very, very good condition. The bottom edge of the lifter has a couple of expected, very minor dings. There are no dents, cracks, or repairs and there is no pitting. The brass has been hand-polished in the English tradition. An interesting and unusual piece.
