A very pleasing and unusual late Georgian mahogany double-sectioned butler's tray with center cut out handle. This finely made piece features dovetailed construction and chamfered base. The mahogany is a warm, rich color and the bottom of the tray has some wonderful figuring in the grain.
This piece measures 20 1/2" long by 13 1/2" wide by 3 1/8" high and is in very, very good condition. There are no chips, cracks or deep gouges, three or four very tight and fine age lines only. The previous owner has added four felt table protectors which I will leave on. As mentioned, the mahogany is lovely rich shade and the finish has a warm, mellow patina. A very useful and decorative piece...great for fruits and vegetables, bread and rolls...filled with plant plots, a collection of brass candlesticks...
Please note the stone fruits and wine displayed with the tray are not included with it and shown only for size reference.
