A fine mid-19th century relief molded, or molded, jug manufactured by Ridgway & Abington Potteries, Staffordshire, England, executed in a beautifully detailed design of swans and bulrushes with figural swan and bulrush handle. The jug is a lovely soft grey-green pottery with a matte salt glaze finish.
This pitcher stands 8 1/4" high to the top of the handle and measures approximately 6" in diameter at it's widest point. It is in very, very good undamaged condition. There are no chips, cracks or restorations and there is no staining. The interior of the jug has a high gloss finish and is very clean. The piece is unmarked.
A very graceful form and deeply and crisply moulded. The jug pictured with this piece in the last photo is also available in our shop.
