A late 18th/early19th century English embossed and punched shallow brass dish with a central Tudor Rose design, scallop and dot borders and rolled rim. Possibly an alms or collection plate.
This lovely piece measures 10" in diameter by 1 3/4" deep. It is in very, very good undamaged condition. There are no dents, splits or restorations. There is one ding the size of a pencil prick which would certainly be considered within the realm of expected wear. A hanging hook has been added, probably in the Victorian era. The brass has been polished in the English tradition.
These pieces are wonderful when displayed with brass candlesticks...they reflect the light from the candle so beautifully.
